Talk About Good People Today

Gary Vaynerchuk has declared April 3rd “Talk About Good People Day” so who am I to argue? Who will I talk about then? Easy - Gary Vaynerchuk.
My road to GaryVee fandom was full of twists and turns (and the occasional pot hole).
I first learned about this larger than life Wine Library TV host through Twitter, specifically from the so called “A-List” Twitter people that I follow. Whether it was Robert Scoble, Jason Calacanis or Mike Arrington tweeting his praises, GaryVee (as he is called in the Twitterverse) was everywhere.
And that’s precisely why I tuned him out.
The “A-List” likes to remind us constantly that they are the “A-List” and that is a turn off for me. Granted, some of the web’s top bloggers have come around. Scoble now aspires to follow as many people as possible because he rightly acknowledges that it isn’t the number of followers you have that make you smart, it is both the quantity and quality of people that you are actively listening to.
Anyway, I found that I had written off GaryVee before giving him a chance simply on the basis of the people that followed him. Big mistake!
So I went over to his website the other day and came away immediately impressed. Not only is Gary a savvy social media marketer, but he seems to be a genuinely nice guy. The kind of person you’d want to hang out with after work - or go on a wine tasting with!
There is something charming, and refreshing, in his endless enthusiasm. And the guy knows his stuff!
Just watch some of the videos he produces on his site and you’ll see for yourself. He has a very loyal, rabid following both on his site and in the social media ecosphere. Gary has mastered personal marketing. I hope to be able to pick up some tips from him as I continue to market myself online as well.
Thanks Gary for all the positivity!
